YOU CAN BE THE GUIDING LIGHT
FOR THE NEXT GENERATION
OF MUSICIANS

Mentoring a young person has so many benefits, both for the mentor and the mentee. Mentors will become leaders within the DJ community and guide their mentees onto the right path to develop the skills needed to become knowledgable and successful DJs.

A recent study* found that at-risk youths that had a mentor were:

  • 55% more likely to enroll in college

  • 78% more likely to volunteer regularly

  • 90% more interested in becoming a mentor

  • 130% more likely to hold leadership positions

At-risk youths with a mentor were also 46% less likely to use illegal drugs than their peers who did not have a mentor and were 81% more likely to join an after-school sport or extracurricular activity.

Historically the DJ community was always tightlipped about information and didn’t share resources with one another.

DJs would cross out artist names and titles on their records so that other DJs couldn’t identify the songs they were playing. If a DJ discovered a new scratch, he’d keep it a secret. The DJ booth was always out of bounds - only staff and close friends were allowed in. But today, it’s different. Now, the most successful DJs love to share their tricks of the trade. They make free tutorials, create informational podcasts and join hands to promote DJ culture. They also want to give aspiring DJs a helping hand in getting started. Our DJ Mentorship Program will give successful DJs a platform to mentor DJs who are starting out. It is a way to instill history and pass the torch to the next generation. It’s also a way to network and get to know key people within our DJ community. You will land more gigs, learn about marketing and relationship management. You’ll even get connected to accountants, financial planners, and the rest. And we are happy to promote our DJ Mentors through our website, social media, and events. So, if you’re an experienced DJ and think you can help the future generation, let’s talk. Shoot us a message at PeopleForDJs@gmail.com and we’ll take it from there.
